I’m the Writer Next Door.
I wasn’t always. I used to be the young kid whose heroes sat behind typewriters or lived in stories. I used to be the college student who knew he wanted to create and be creative, but never knew really how to go about doing it in a practical way.
Over the last 20 years, I’ve figured out who I am and what I do best. I’ve worked in fiction, non-fiction, film, television, and role-playing games, on hundreds of projects with hundreds of creators.
I know what it’s like to have an idea and no idea on how to get it out. I know what it’s like to write a thing and think that everyone will just hate it and you. I know what it’s like to have a stack of rejection letters and feel like you’ll never get anywhere. I know what it’s like to doubt and think about quitting.
I also know what it’s like to get a check in the mail for the work you do. Or to see your name in the credits of something on a screen. Or to hold something you created in your hand, knowing that other people can have their own copy too. Or to go on tours and press junkets and talk about how great it is to make dreams come true.
This is me, and this is what I do best – I help people tell their stories.
And I want to help you next.
